Microsoft owns Activision! Is that good or bad?
The 68.7 billion dollar deal is a game changer, pun intended. But is it good?
I decided to spend a few days in solitary reflection after learning about this monstrous deal between two giants of the video game sphere.
Frankly, I don’t think any of us have genuinely realized by now the impact and scale of this acquisition.
Think about it. A company with over 10,000 employees has been bought out one of the biggest, if not the biggest conglomerate in the world.
Michael Soft owns Crash Bandicoot now. They own Call of Duty. They own Overwatch. They freaking own Candy Crush! The price for all this madness? An all-cash transaction worth 68.7 billion dollars.
I think the closest comparison I can think of is when the big evil mouse acquired both Marvel and Fox. It is that big when you think about it. So naturally, a move this fucking huge makes everyone wonder the same thing.
What the hell is gonna happen? Is this good or bad news?
I hate to be the bearer of negativity (I don’t). But I believe this isn’t good news. Not at all.
Before we can even begin a proper discussion, it would be wise to say that there are a ton of factors at play here with this deal.
