The Criterion Collection catalogue is for cinephiles what cocaine is to Charlie Sheen: an inseparable love affair proven to be highly dangerous.
This fantastic company provides film fanatics with literally thousands of titles to choose from (older works more often than not) which have been expertly remastered and retouched with the strict supervision of the original creators.
Like Boromir himself said in Fellowship of the Ring: you can’t just simply become a Criterion Collection Candidate. No, sir. You have to earn it.
Taking that into consideration, you can take comfort in knowing every single movie here deserves a watch in case you haven’t seen it.
In no particular order, these are all the titles I currently own on Blu-Ray format. If you also currently own Criterion Collection movies in a physical format, I’d love to hear what you guys own. Maybe you might convince me to buy them so leave them in the comments!
