…y parents struggling to make ends meet post-cult, we all had a wonderful time free of past horrors. My father always loved Christmas to the point that I wondered if he might be a reincarnation of Charles Dickens. During the cult, celebrating Christmas was frowned upon, with things like Christmas trees forbidden. My father put up a tree anyway, every year, and typically got it in the neck for doing so. After the cult ended, Christmas became a lot more fun, with my father no longer persecuted for his defiance. The addition of a black and white television into the mix proved the icing on the cake.

I am also a Christmas tree guy. I find it literally unacceptable to not have one in my own home during Holidays. The very thought of it makes my blood boil.
