Darren Aronofsky’s horror/thriller is one of the most interesting/uncomfortable movies I’ve ever watched
Few filmmakers have the power to constantly surprise me with their unique vision. Darren Aronofsky most definitely belongs to this category; a proficient visual master whose images often contain symbolism and metaphorical significance. His secret superpower? Darren has the ability to make you feel deeply uncomfortable — even hours or days after watching his films. And the best part about it? Some of us actually end up enjoying every last second of his crazy rides.
Without a doubt, one of the best examples of Darren Aronofsky’s talent to make you squirm comes from a movie that ironically has been mostly forgotten by cinephiles and normies alike. The 2017 horror thriller Mother! stands out as one of the most gripping and deeply uncomfortable movies I’ve watched in the last 10 years. This is simply because anyone who has ever suffered social anxiety in their lives or even a trace of OCD will find this movie to be as comfortable as falling downstairs wearing a Pinhead costume.
