My Top 10 Watches in Movies
A watch nerd and cinephile shares his top ten “watch cameos” in film.
Today, I combine three of my favorite things in the whole wide world: awesome movies, amazing timepieces and making lists about pointless shit. Today, I share with you my favorite watches to ever feature in movies.
Believe it or not, Hollywood is partly responsible of the recent hype surrounding watchmaking. So naturally, some very cool timepieces have made legendary appearances in films throughout the years.
Since this list is quite a personal one, keep in mind some legendary watches like the TAG Heuer Monaco on Steve McQueen’s wrist in Le Mans or any of the watches worn by James Bond through the years didn’t make the cut. I apologize in advance.
Every single watch featured here follows two very strict rules: I like the watch and it makes perfect sense with the character using it. Another way of saying it is: this list doesn’t reflect how much I love the movie mentioned. Sadly, figuring out with total accuracy what watch is worn by a film character can be quite tricky so I only included those I could be absolutely sure of. Believe me, I’d pay money to find out what exact watch Tom Cruise is wearing in Eyes Wide Shut.
