On the first point, definitely all movies are hard to make. But according to Spielberg, he was miserable while filming Jaws to the point of considering quitting movies altogether.

And secondly, I know masters like Coppola, the Coens or Scorsese are still around. But I might dare to say none of them are as influential as Spielberg. Not yet at least.
