One way to realize how the Oscars get things so incredibly "wrong" is to compare the "influence" or "legacy" left by the movies you've chosen versus some of the actual winners. I'd argue movies like The Exorcist or Jaws or Se7en had a bigger cultural impact than many of the movies that won or were nominated for "Best Picture". Obviously, this is all subjective which renders this conversation pointless in my humble opinion. But it does make you think, doesn't it?
For instance, here's a spicy take for you. That Emilia Pérez movie or Coda won't be remembered or talked about in 40 years time. Mark my words.
