When it comes to releasing properly new products the watch industry has actually got a pathetic record. Mention the biggest names in the industry such as Omega, Tudor, Rolex, Cartier; finding a release that ISN’T a refurbished product within their catalogues is borderline impossible.

Established and respected companies like these tend to take themselves way too seriously. One of the tragic side effects of this inflated self-importance is behaving like I did when I was in my teens. “Let’s not risk doing anything new or exciting because we might make a fool of ourselves.” Not that great of a strategy when it comes to stop living for the sake of playing it safe. Trust me.
