The Wii Edition is Resident Evil 4’s superior version
Point and shoot is just so much better when it’s literal.
The gameplay mechanics of the Wii are divisive to say the least. Some people love the fact that a console is willing to innovate by introducing mechanics that make the experience more immersive. But the fat bastard inside all of us (sometimes on the outside like in my case) more than once bitched about that motion-detection system. After all, playing tennis against Matt on Wii Sports after a pint of late night beer isn’t precisely the best way to chill out.
However, the Wii mechanics did offer some great fun and endless replay value. When you were looking for a different take on how to play video games, the Wii offered a unique solution. That we can all agree on.
And from all the great titles released across the years on the console, there is one that sticks out marvelously. A game that was created long before motion-detection was a real thing in video games. Capcom’s most precious treasure, and quite simply put, one of the best games of all time. Yes, I’m talking about Devil May Cry 2.
