This seems to be a rather… cowardly move. Obviously, a remake done in the fashion of FFVII would be appropriate. Some might even argue that nothing at all would be even better.

They won't risk spending serious money on a remake but they will do a cartoon made by a French studio, that most likely the only thing they find familiar about the story is that the main guy is called like their World Cup Winner and legend football player?
