From the incredibly long list of iconic actors that have passed through Hollywood’s history, it’s hard to think of one that is most disrespected, type-casted and ignored than Tom Cruise. Granted, the guy does have a strange relationship with one of the most shady corporations on Earth; not to mention the fact that he’s crazy enough to do his own stunts despite the fact that he’s 50 something by now.

I suspect that all these factors alongside a career mostly present in action films have done Tom a huge disservice when it comes to his acting abilities. Because after all, this dude remains to this day the ONLY actor in history to have these guys as his directors: Paul Thomas Anderson, Steven Spielberg, Stanley Kubrick, Michael Mann, Oliver Stone, Martin Scorsese, Brian De Palma, Ridley and Tony Scott. I’d be willing to bet some serious cash that we won’t see a resume as impressive as this ever again.

Now, from his massive catalogues of films, let’s examine some of Tom Cruise’s top performances that certainly should give him some appreciation and respect from film fanatics.
