Totally agree. Which my solution is always to try to write completely new content and universes. Fanboys don't exist yet so they can't complaint.

On the other hand, I must say I lost all interest in Star Wars after watching Force Awakens. To me, it was nothing more than Episode 4 retold worsely for millenials and Gen-Z's. I really don't like modern filmmakers and where the art form is going.
