SPOILER FREE: five simple reasons why you can’t miss Frank Darabont’s overlooked masterpiece

Credit: Warner Bros / Universal Pictures

Crying isn’t something usual for me. Without any intention to brag or nothing (like if such a thing was worth bragging about), I have rarely cried when it comes to watching films. I have been fortunate enough to have been affected by many sorts of films throughout my brief stance on this Earth. But from the minute number of films that have made me cry, only one has achieved the objective every single time I dare to play it in my Blu-Ray.

The Green Mile is the lesser known film by Frank Darabont also adapted from a Stephen King work and which also happens to takes place in a prison. Most people out there with a genuine interest for cinema may have already delighted themselves with Darabont’s revered masterpiece The Shawshank Redemption.

But today I want to shine a spotlight on a film that isn’t talked about as often as its more talented sibling. A film outshined by the previous work of a genius director despite earning a whopping 286 million dollars from a 60 million budget.

As promised, I won’t talk about key elements in the plot. I wouldn’t want to tarnish such a fantastic film through a lazy spoiler-filled review.
