Hollywood and Nintendo make a bad partnership

Like Fight Club or a nest of hornets, some things are better left untouched.

The word “certainty” in a dictionary should be by now associated with a picture of a Nintendo Direct announcement in September. Now, we’ve all heard about plenty of good stuff to wait for this year and even up to 2022. Perhaps, what people are most excited about is Metroid Dread and Bayonetta 3, two games I personally have no stake or much interest in. But there was an announcement somewhere mashed up in there by Shigeru Miyamoto himself which rocked the world. A piece of news so incredibly fucking random that people all over the internet have called it Nintendo “just shitposting us”.

Apparently, there’s a Mario movie in the works. Now, I’m no bloody purist in any shape or form, let me make that crystal clear. I do not think it sacrilegious for characters from separate mediums to show up in a world they aren’t usually a part of. I love the idea of mixed universes. Hell, I live for Smash Bros (check what I wrote about it here), for Baal’s sake. I think mixing things up is awesome!
